Diane M. Pearson



Diane M. Pearson, CFP®, PPC™, CDFA™ is a Personal Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Shareholder with Legend Financial Advisors, Inc.® and EmergingWealth Investment Management, Inc.  She has over 20 years experience in the financial advisory profession.  Diane has been selected three times by Worth magazine as one of “The Top 250 Wealth Advisors” in the country.  Diane has also been selected four times by Medical Economics magazine as one of “The 150 Best Financial Advisors for Doctors in America” and twice by Dental Practice Report as one of “The Best Financial Advisors for Dentists in America”.  Diane is one of the first financial advisors in the country to earn the Professional Plan Consultants™ (PPC™) designation, recognizing her commitment to education and service excellence in the qualified retirement planning industry.

Ms. Pearson has also been awarded the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA™) professional designation.  As a CDFA™, she is qualified to serve as a financial expert on divorce cases, present data to support an argument, and educate clients on the short- and long-term financial implications of different divorce settlement proposals.  Diane can assist divorcées by identifying and valuing the marital assets and liabilities as well as exploring creative solutions and options for distribution of the marital assets.   Diane is experienced at helping individuals as they navigate the financial complexities of divorce.

Diane is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and is a Registered Financial Advisor with the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the nation’s largest fee-only professional organization.  Ms. Pearson is also a member of the second Pittsburgh chapter of the Women’s Presidents Organization (WPO).  Members of the WPO are women presidents of highly successful companies who take part in professionally-facilitated peer advisory groups in order to accelerate the growth of their businesses.  Ms. Pearson is also a former member of The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), where she served as the Finance Director and Treasurer for the Pittsburgh Chapter.  She has also been selected twice as the Pittsburgh Chapter of NAWBO’s “Woman Business Owner of the Year.”  In 2007, she was honored by NAWBO as the “Woman Business Professional Associate of the Year.”  In 2005, Diane was named as one of the Pittsburgh Business Times’ Fast Trackers 2005 for her impact on the business and social climate within the Pittsburgh region.  Diane was also selected as one of “Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business” in 2006 by The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Ms. Pearson has developed and presented a number of educational programs for the Allegheny County Medical Society, rotary clubs, outplacement firms, and various corporations on a variety of financial topics.  Ms. Pearson was one of the first advisors in the Tri-State/Western Pennsylvania area who successfully completed the testing requirements to be a registered 529 plan consultant through the www.savingforcollege.com Website.

Ms. Pearson has also authored a landmark article entitled “Pre-59½ Distributions—Careful Analysis Is Required”, regarding retirement distribution planning.  She has also been a frequent guest speaker on various radio and Website broadcasts.
